As most all of you know, NA World Services is no longer trying to keep up with listing all of the meetings in the world. Instead, their new meeting finder web page and app points folks to the appropriate local or regional website or helpline. However, NAWS is still maintaining a list of all the virtual meetings world-wide (available at https://virtual.na.org).
NAWS is offering online and hybrid groups the option of opting out of being listed at https://virtual.na.org. (Perhaps the group is concerned about the extra exposure and risk of zoom bombers, for example.) For virtual meetings listed on a BMLT server that want to opt out, a BMLT admin for that service body should open the meeting data in the BMLT meeting editor and look at the “World Committee Code” field under the Basic tab. If there is already a code, change the “G” to a “U” (U for Unlisted). For example, if the code is G001234, change it to U001234. If there isn’t a code already, enter a U (without a number following). The next time NAWS syncs its data with your BMLT server (still using the dijon system), they will see the change to the World Committee Code and unlist the meeting.
For meetings that aren’t on a BMLT server, use the “submit an update” link associated with the meeting on virtual.na.org. (But if available, use the procedure for BMLT-listed meetings instead – this is simpler for NAWS to process.)
